A Cameron Highlands Destination Wedding @ Bala’s Holiday Chalet
A destination wedding up in Cameron Highlands known for tea growing, vegetable farms and flower nurseries. It is a one and a half hour journey by car using Simpang Pulai route reaching the first town Kampung Raja. With a cool day temperature of 25C, a perfect highland getaway with chalets, apartments, hotels and home-stays available.
Welcome to the wedding of Shamini and Dishen, Sunday 30th June 2019. A destination wedding at the scenic Bala’s Holiday Chalet. A pre-war tudor style chalet which used to be a school. With the colour theme of peach, mint green, gold and cream, the outdoor setting enables the combination of traditional Indian ceremony followed by luncheon.
Dessert Table and Cake Setup
Joining me for this event is Cindy. Cameron Highlands is approximately 5000ft above sea level. We drove up the winding road, the higher we get, the cooler the air, and reached Bala’s at 7am. The dessert table, consisting of a 3-tiered semi-naked cake, assembled onsite. Taking no chances for cake mishaps. The 5 types of desserts (cookies, cake pops, tiramisu, choux pastry and brownies) designed according to the colour theme. The table setup was a white theme, all the better to complement the peach colors. Here’s more ideas on dessert table plating and presentation.
Bala’s Chalet itself is situated on top of a hill with a narrow road and parking is limited. Therefore, you have to find parking and stay on-site untill the whole event ends. Joining the guests for coffee breakfast, followed by the traditional wedding ceremony, and lunch, keeping our stomach happy. All the while guarding the desserts from being eaten before the cake cutting session.
Congratulations Shamini and Dishen
Thank you Shamini and Dishen for your orders and letting us be part of your wedding. We had fun and would look back on this date with fond memories. Congratulations!
We brought home two cactuses from the Let Love Grow table of doorgifts. Perfect momento!
